The Entrepreneur and Family Business Council invites all our avid readers (and the not so avid ones too!) to join the newly formed EFBC Book Club. Our inaugural book will be Malcolm Gladwell's Talking to Strangers: What We Should Know about the People We Don't Know.

In this book, Gladwell reexamines scandals taken straight from the news – the deceptions of Bernie Madoff, the trial of Amanda Knox, the suicide of Sylvia Plath – casting doubt on our understanding of these and other stories.

As business owners, you likely find yourselves interacting with strangers regularly. So how do you try to understand people you don't know?

Gladwell feels that something is wrong with the tools and strategies we use to make sense of people we don't know. And because we don't know how to talk to strangers, we are inviting conflict and misunderstanding in ways that profoundly affect our lives and our world.

Have you experienced this?

Grab your copy of Gladwell's book – heralded as the best book of the Year by The Financial Times, Bloomberg and the Chicago Tribune – and join our host, Private Vista for stimulating conversation and the chance to connect face to face.
