What is the Program About?

As a business owner you may be thinking about the next step in the life of your business. Whether your business was founded by family, privately owned with non-family members or you are an entrepreneur; the questions, vulnerabilities, opportunities are similar as you begin to ponder shifting control and/or ownership.

Business succession and how to extract your wealth from your business continues to be very complex. The pandemic has impacted the actual transition plan and timing for many owners.

In this program, you will gain an in-depth understanding of best practices in family wealth management. The panel will explore the governance, structure, and investment challenges unique to business owners. They will also discuss various approaches for managing your new found liquidity for you and your family.

The Program will cover:

  • How do I transition out of my business? What are my options?
  • What should I consider if most of my wealth is tied up in the business?
  • How can financial planning help me determine “my number” since it’s tied to the value of my business and supporting my goals after the sale?
  • Do I have a next generation entering the business?
  • What If I die tomorrow or become disabled? What is the contingency plan to ensure the business and my family are still provided for according to my wishes?

We want attendees to leave feeling supported and educated about some of their options.
