President’s Message – The Four Ws in Every Business Plan

Have you recently challenged your key leadership team to explore the who, what, why and how questions surrounding your business, team, services and products? Taking a moment out of each day to reflect on what you do can be a powerful thing. Last month, a small group of EFBC members and strategic partners had the opportunity to participate in a messaging and branding session led by Prism Insights.

The purpose of the brainstorming session was to create a message for communicating the 20 year history of the EFBC, including: the uniqueness of who we are, what we do and where we are going as an organization. The process forced us to dig deep and explore how we want to promote ourselves to the public. What words do we want associated with the EFBC? What words do not capture the essence of Forum? When it comes down to it, what do we truly offer our members?

In the end, we hope to get this information to market in a clear and concise manner. Since companies and organizations are effected by change so often, it is important to understand the answers to these questions in order to tell your story accurately and consistently. Leaving the session, we felt refreshed. It was fascinating to hear the insights from the group and to understand the benefits that each of us receive from our membership in the EFBC.

Thank you Patty Rioux and Tiffany Meyers for leading a powerful gathering.
